Camping at Hebden Hey
Camping at Hebden Hey is restricted
to members of the Scout and Guide Organisations. There are a dozen sites spread around the
site, each being separate from adjacent sites by wooded margins
although close enough should you want to share troop facilities
with individual patrols. The sites vary from our smaller sites
suitable for two or three hike tents, to the three largest sites
each being approximately 600sq.m. Or in real terms big enough
for large(ish) groups to get on!
Our camping season opens at Easter each year, and continues to
the end of October.
Currently we do not allow camping outside these dates to prevent
excessive damage to the sites.
CAMPERS FACILITIES
There are three water points around the site providing fresh (mains)
drinking water.
Three separate toilets are available, two with warm water in the
sinks as well as hot showers.
The Day Centre is available for hire between 9am and 9:30pm, and
should be booked with the Hostel booking secretary, this gives
you a large indoor activity room with kitchen that can cater for
up to 30 people, cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment are provided.
We try to keep the centre and campsites in as good condition as
possible, and ask everyone to abide by the Camping
Rules we have set, occasionally we have to put areas out of bounds to allow
them to recover from excessive use, but we will offer an alternative
similar area.
